EXCERPT from: "Fee hike leads to angry exchange" T-H-E 5/13/08

Scott said imposing the increases all at once would negatively impact businesses and homeowners. He argued any increase should be spread over a period of years.

Scott took aim at the rest of the council members, who indicated their initial support for the fee schedule with some modifications.

"I don't think I have been madder about anything we've done when it comes to increasing prices than I am right now," he said.

"When you don't have to make a payroll, when you don't have to worry about putting gas in your truck to get to the next job site, then I guess it doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference. I really think people are going to be upset by this. I am going to make damn sure that they know you are willing to OK a 65 percent increase ... "

Scott then got out of his chair, uttered profanity and exited the meeting.

"I don't care about the way I left the meeting," Scott said. "As far as I am concerned, it's the principle of the thing. If I would of stayed, I wouldn't be able to cool myself off and think plainly about the rest of the evening. What's the point of staying there if that is how I feel?"

I hope it’s obvious I have taken “a bit of liberty with this.” But I swear to GoD that the voice is the same as little Timmy Scott’s portrayal of a whiney 5 year old when he said: “He called me a son-of-a-bitch” (like his nads had retracted).

Yes I did call him a SON-OF-A-BITCH right after he belly-butted me.

I apologize to the taxpayers of Burlington for my poor aim; had “it” been to his head, maybe you wouldn’t have had $300-400k railroad lawsuit flop. Or the $5-6 million and counting, for the Eminent Domain or is that Eminent Doom mall (I get confused).

How’s that much greater than $80k a year, taxes/income working out?

Action may have violated code
By JEFF ABELL

In open session, Councilman Tim Scott made a motion directing the city's human resource director "to take the action that was given by consensus by the city council in closed session," according to the minutes of the meeting.

Councilman Tim Scott said the reason the council chose not to vote in open session on its decision to pass on the applicants was to allow staff time to contact them before the information was released to the public.

"I made the suggestion that we should have the personnel director make those contacts, prepare a press release and follow those steps. There was no objection from anybody, and essentially silence is affirmation. We might have been in violation had we not notified them first. ... I don't know," he said.

Scott added: "The council did make a decision in closed session that we were not going to make an offer to any of the candidates. I don't foresee that as being an issue or a violation of the open meetings law. You can look at it both ways, I guess."

Also: "The existing street lights are on a series circuit, which means if one light in the circuit goes out, they all go out like on an old Christmas tree."

Series circuit street lights, 'do not' function like that; they have either a series transformer on each lamp, or a built-in cutout, so the rest will still work. Now "IF" there's a circuit fault, then it will effect all lights.

"Knoke can’t explain bad bid"(EXCERPTS ARE FROM The Hawk Eye 9-28-07)

Scott calls for answers in water equalization tank debacle.

Comment: So do I, about Tim Scott.

Councilman Tim Scott said Thursday Burlington taxpayers are owed an Explanation from Knoke.

Comment: Mr. Scott Sir: How about giving “an Explanation” on your stuff.

“I refuse to accept it. I don’t know how staff came up with that figure,” Scott said.

Comment: Just as “I refuse to accept it,” that you’re skating free and …

Scott said. “I, and the rest of the council, owe it to the taxpayers of this city to ask
some tough questions and get some answers.”

Comment: I wish The Hawk Eye would “ask some tough questions and …”

"Answers sought "

(EXCERPTS ARE FROM The Hawk Eye 10-1-07)

During regular session tonight, Councilman Tim Scott plans to press the public works director for answers as to why the project was budgeted for $2.5 million, but the lowest of two bids came in at $4.3 million. Citizens also are expected to chime in on the issue during a public input session.

Comment: I wish The Hawk Eye would “press” Tim Scott for some answers. (Is that like wishing in one hand and …)

Thus far, Scott said he hasn't received an explanation why the project's cost was misjudged, a situation he hopes will be remedied tonight.

Comment: Just as citizens/taxpayers have not “received an explanation” for your “exploits.”

"This is not our money, but the taxpayer's money that we are spending. This council needs to know why taxpayers will be paying more to complete this project," Scott said.

Comments: Nice to see your concern about “the taxpayer’s money”, so why don’t you pay the airport market rate rent? I guess/looks like if you’re on the receiving end of a sweetheart deal, it’s ok.

Scott said he is against using change orders to reduce costs.
"When you do that you fundamentally change the project. It's no longer the project we approved in the concept hearing," Scott said.

Comment: Kinda like taking an oath to tell the truth, then lyin’ your @- - off on the witness stand, to keep your job as mayor.

P.S. RFields, I will drop the subject, when The Hawk Eye does it’s job and/or when Tim Scott confesses (Sorry, no I won’t hold my breath) Razz

Re: "Airport board seeks funding hike" (T-H-E 9/26/07) Maybe if the board would start charging Councilman Tim Scott et. al. fair market rate rent, instead of the paltry $150.00 a month WITH UNTILITIES this year. Previously it was $100.00 a month WITH UNTILITIES! Then taxpayers will not be stuck w/ subsidizing Mr. Scott's rent Crying or Very sad

Yeah at that rate, you could put in $4K of permanent improvements QuestionQuestionQuestion Can some/anyone, preferably with a straight face tell me there's no quid pro quo here. (conflict of interest)

Come on Hawk Eye wake up, and look into "IT." Please Exclamation And/or prove me wrong.

Keith, thanks for the link, it's very revealing. That related video "Cop gone wild..." that Sgt. ---- says he'll make up "9 different charges" is rather frightening. WARNING: language is not for sensitive ears.

Here's another fine representation:

Tim Scott's word is every bit as good, as Sen. Larry Craig's.

Vet4peace, you're welcome, and thanks for the comeback.

For the record, mine was pre-Scott.

I was surprised that Mr. Pat Jackson didn't recuse himself, from the investigation of the CPC (Central Point of Coordination) saga.

After all, his neighbor's nephew's, cousin's girl friend's, hairdresser...

Which one, the neighbor? Girl friend? It could even be the cousin. My best answer is, it will be the hairdresser 'if' she reads this.

Yeah I know my punctuation/grammer [skills] are SEVERELY lacking, and cause confusion Embarassed
